Thanks to a wide network of University cooperation and partnership agreements, Ӱֱ annually welcomes hundreds of international students to bachelor and master programmes, as well as courses of Russian as a foreign language. We are also happy to host foreign university faculty members and employees and international doctoral students within our internships programmes and professional development courses.
Ӱֱ international cooperation traditions date back to the 18th century. At the time, there was an effort to identify the most academically talented students and send them to European universities, primarily in Germany. After graduating, they came back to Russia to become educators. A wide array of foreign professors were also invited to the University to teach, giving rise to the Russian pedagogical school in the process.
The 1940-s saw the first groups of international students arrive at our University. Since then, students from all over the world have come to Ӱֱ to study at bachelor, master and doctoral programmes, as well as courses of Russian as a foreign language and other additional educational programmes in different areas.
Currently, Ӱֱ has agreements with over 140 foreign universities and various other educational, scientific and cultural organisations and bodies from Europe, Asia and the Americas. Ӱֱ faculty and employees are engaged in research and academic work at universities based in the US, China, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Israel, Finland, Korea and other countries. University researchers take part in various international conferences, workshops and seminars, advise international research projects and preside over and work in organising committees of international academic events and contests.
